UTD Esports Content Creators Take Tim the Tatman’s Tailgate

Summer has been a busy time for our Esports staff here at UT Dallas, but it has made for some great content! Recently, Complexity Gaming gave us the opportunity to go to Tim the Tatman’s Tailgate at the Star in Frisco. It was such an amazing event with activities such as cup pong, laser tag, and so many meet and greets. We loved the different photo booths around the venue and the mini arcade. It was definitely a success for Tim’s first tailgate.
The event was the host of the “Hoedown $100,000 Zero Build Tournament” as well as a $15,000 cup pong tournament that I somehow ended up competing in. It was a happy accident being paired with an absolute legend at cup pong named Katie; I had such a fun time competing with her. The Fortnite tournament was definitely a highlight of the event. There was even a point during the second day where Tim joined the tournament to make it even more competitive.
There were more laidback events like the Tim Look-a-Like contest and the concerts. There were also field games for those that were not huge fans of the gaming scene and even a foam pit where we got the coolest pictures. Honestly, the best part was getting to meet everyone especially Jordan Fisher and Ninja!
Thank you again to Complexity for inviting us out there. We had such an amazing time and we cannot wait for the next tailgate!
