Interested in joining our varsity esports teams for Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, Smash Bros. Ultimate, or VALORANT? All players a part of our nationally ranked teams are sanctioned as student-athletes for the university and receive: paid scholarship, priority class registration, customized esports jersey & uniform, student-athlete backpack, paid travel & hotel for competitions, and access to the esports practice room on campus.
If you’re interested in assisting the program behind the scenes as a coach, team manager, or more, you can fill out the Support Staff application. Selected students receive the same scholarships as the esports athletes.

Varsity Esports Tryouts
Tryouts for the Varsity Esports Teams will take place online (and in-person in the Esports Practice Room, if requested) during the fall semesters. If you are interested in trying out, visit each team page for the application.
UT Dallas Esports Academy Teams
What if I want to compete under the university and I don’t make a varsity team, or it’s a game like Call of Duty, Apex, Fortnite, etc. that isn’t currently a part of varsity esports?
A: We have plans in the works for supporting Academy Teams under UT Dallas Esports soon. Stay tuned for more information to come! In the meantime, be sure to let us know what game you’re interested about in our Discord Server.
